Acknowledgments
Although the Crew Call! Directory has been active in the San
Diego community for four years, this was the first year that
we attempted to publish the directory in Los Angeles. Without
the help and support of a great many people this daunting task
would have been impossible.
We greatly appreciate the students, faculty and staff from
all of the Los Angeles area film schools for recognizing the
directory's importance. We continue to thank the students, faculty
and staff from San Diego area schools for continuing to stand
by us. Special thanks to Dennis Riley from SDSU and Cecil Wilmot
from UCLA for their extra assistance in spreading the word to
students. And of course we need to thank all our sponsors for
their generous support. Special thanks to The Hollywood Reporter
for sticking by us again in this difficult transitional year
and offering a great deal for our subscribers. Thanks have to
go to The Creative Industry Handbook and Smorgasbord Productions;
two companies that truly understand the importance of supporting
our students. And of course this book would not be in your hands
now if not for our many distributors. Foremost, we have to thank
IFP West and the San Diego Film Commission. And of course for
those of you who hit our party at CineSpace, you know we need
to thank Kimberly Browning of Hollywood Shorts and CineSpace,
absolutely the coolest club for filmmakers in LA.
And of course we need to thank ourselves since we did put this
book together after all. The efforts of our hard-working partners
and crew have made Crew Call! more than just a nice idea, but
a very real, very useful tool for film and video students.
Since this was our first year in LA I know there are many areas
where we need to improve as well as many schools and services
not represented. Please bear with us. We're just getting started
and the best is yet to come.
We thank you all for your patience and continued support.
Best Regards, Dávid Kolodny-Nagy
